what do women mean by equal rights?

Matt Gerdeman: It means we don't want to be told we can't do something that a man can do because we're women. And by that definition, we've already accomplished equal rights.

Rona Espalin: It means that even though women are inferior, we should treat them the same.

Shad Bushweller: The equal pay myth. In the 25 years that I've been working I've never known what anyone else was paid. How is it that women somehow know what everyone else is making? How is that?????????If someone has 10 years experience and I have 3 years, if I was a woman should I be paid equally? How do women have all this inside information that nobody else has???***** The truth is, if you keep saying something enough times it will start to stick, it's called rumors. Feminists don't deal in real facts. Then again women don't have to deal in fact because women are honest and never lie....Show more

Shad Bushweller: equal pay. not equal tratment

Toby Caswell: They mean the following -I! ts all about a mothers rights, but no fathers rights. The new family unit is now defined as a mother and her children.Women being treat like princesses in prison and men being treat like animals. Female prison guards humiliate and degrade men and give them no privacy rights, but female prisoners get privacy and respect from male prison guards.Bodily choice for women, but forced genital mutilation for baby boys, referring to women’s rights to their bodies in terms of abortion, but boys being circumcised without choice.Female reporters and staff allowed in men’s locker rooms, but privacy and respect for female athletes. Very strange definition of equality that feminism was very vocal about as being equal rights. Is this an example of the respect that feminists claim MEN don’t have for WOMEN?Its women getting everything in a divorce, and men being torn away from their childrenFemale sex offenders being slapped on the wrist, but male sex offenders being incarcerated the r! est of their livesIts men being sentenced to more time for the! same crime than women. This can be researched under the US government and shows that women don’t get held accountable to the level that men do.Women having the right to use the men’s room, but a man who walks in to the women’s room is arrested for being disrespectful and perverted. Men use urinals, but that’s still not enough for women to have basic respect for men’s privacy. Its a feminized education system that cripples natural behavior of boys, makes being male a crime in school, then girls claiming they are smarter. Why is it when two people under the age of consent have sex, only the boy is charged with doing something wrong? Its women being allowed to drown five children and using the fact she is a woman to get away with it - Andrea YatesIts women being allowed to use domestic violence as an excuse to murder a sleeping husband, even though there is no evidence of domestic abuse - Mary WinklerIts the extensive abuse of restraining orders to vilify an innocent ! man and get leverage in a divorce. A restraining order against a man can be served even without his knowledge or an opportunity to defend himself. Its men being jailed for defending themselves against an abusive wife, but called a wimp if he takes the abuseIts women demanding respect from men, but never having to respect them in returnIts women having the choice between abortion, adoption, dropping an unwanted baby off at a hospital, raising the child with a father, or raising the child without a father, but the only choice men have is to agree. Its 3 innocent Duke Lacrosse players losing their lives because we don’t ever think a woman could lie about rape - let alone prosecute her for doing so.Its women labeling men as abusive when the US government has shown women cause more child abuse than men.Its female rape being horrendous, but male rape being funny and made in to comedy movies. Rape is a legally accepted part of the justice system, but only against men.Its just abou! t every TV show being allowed to humiliate and degrade men, but women c! omplaining and calling it sexist if they were treated the same. It’s more health care spending going towards women’s health than men’s. Breast cancer receives 7 times the funding of prostate cancer. There are three departments of women’s health in the US government, but none for men. However, men live an average of 5 years less than women when the genders used to have the same life span. Its allowing women only clubs and banning men only clubsIt’s doing everything we can to help girls in math and science, but letting boys fall further behind in everything else. It’s defining equal pay for equal work as men playing fi...Show more

Tyrone Disanti: Please don't generalize all women are the same. In fact what is absolutely right and absolutely wrong? There are no definite answers! Through all these years of changes, people change in their values. What to accept? What is generally accepted? No clear border lines now.I am not gay but I have to say this: you can't sa! y Gay is right or wrong. They have no choice and they didn't choose to be gay. The world is not falling apart. It's changing. More voices could be heard and it's not like the old times when people got arrested or punished just because he's gay. That's discrimination now. Women can act like a man if they like. It's their choices not that they are wrong. A manly woman can also love her husband dearly. She can be a strong women at work and a loving wife and mother at home. Think about it. Why can't people live a life they want? Right and Wrong? There isn't an answer....Show more

Terrell Voltz: havent you already answered your own question? you treat men and women the same. if you would do something for a man, do it for women. and the other way around.

Raven Purl: Wrong. It simply means that the differences between us should not be the determining factor in the law. That's all. "Equal treatment under the law." A difficult concept for those with pointy heads.ETA: ! read the text of the Equal Rights Amendment:Section 1. Equality of Rig! hts under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex.Section 2. The Congress shall have the power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.Section 3. This amendment shall take effect two years after the date of ratification.Scary, isn't it? Very threatening. But don't worry, it will never be ratified....Show more

Jose Bouliouris: Women (of the radical feminist persuasion) easily confuse the concept of equal opportunities with equal rights and equal outcomes.Equal Opportunity means that anyone can strive to achieve what they can without hindrance or obstruction because of their sex or gender.Equal outcomes means that men and women should be in equal numbers of equal proportions in every aspect of life. The radical feminist persuasion wants women to be 50% of company Directors, 50% of political leaders, but is squeamish about 50% of sewer workers.Equal opportunity promotes equality of o! pportunity allowing those with the abilities to flourish.Equal Outcomes requires a degree of social engineering that bestows privilege and advantage upon less able and suited members one group over the better able and suited members of another group - and is called "progress"....Show more
