what if i left my car at a shop after getting repairs and never picked it up?

Willie Tun: If you put your signature on a work order that outlines the work that they performed, then you are responsible for paying them and they have the legal advantage in making you do that. If you felt that your car was not worth what was outlined on that work order, you should not have signed it. If you did not sign anything, you can walk away but they will likely keep your car.If I were you, I'd talk to them about it. I own a shop and I would bend over backwards to come up with a compromise that suited both of us, long before things got legal....Show more

Marquetta Gimm: That's why I would have never diagnosed your car in the first place. It's the shops job to know the repairs are going to be worth more than the car. But that's no reason to stiff them. I have no idea what the worse that could happen would be but I would take you to court.

Kris Otuafi: The shop will have a " mechanics lien " put on it and get title to the vehicle and most likely have a ! recycle yard take it away.

Cliff Tyre: They can call the cops and have it tow away or put a lien on the title for storage fee and then sell it at an auction.

Antone Youla: Haha I'm sure that's not a good choice. They have your liscense plate. And somewhere down the line prob get Wierd bills in the mail for ditching it.

Caroyln Ebach: they take you to court. better check with your state laws

Travis Sherrock: They would rack up the storage fees then eventually tow it away then take you to small claims court and sue you for all that plus the original repair bill, plus interest.
