Vernon Martorana: Yes, follow the Owners Manual.........I generally replace air & fuel filters more often than recommended.I don't put many miles on my car - get's oil & filter changed and a quick checkover at 3000 miles or 6 months, whichever is first. I check underhood and tire pressures at least once a month - usually more often & before a trip. Wish I could check the transmissions, but Ford doesn't let you (no dipstick - has to be checked while on a lift). But both our Fords have timing CHAINS.......your Honda undoubtedly has a rubber timing BELT - find out when the dealer recommends changing it - - - on past cars I had it done at 60,000. Check your Manual for coolant flushes & refills: when having our 6 year old Mustang with only 4000 miles in for an oil change, they told us it was overdue for cooling system service......seemed silly with such low mileage but their rationale is that there's a lot of aluminum in new engines & radiators and the anti-corrosion addit! ives in the coolant become less effective with time, not mileage. Sure enough, our Manuals said change at 5 years and ever 2 years there after.A 2009 Civic with 38K - - the dealer put new tires & brakes on? Sounds like a good dealer and you can probably assume the did give it a good checkover. Take care of that puppy and you can put 250-300K on it easy !...Show more
Percy Seiger: The maintenance schedule can be found in the owners manual, in a repair manual or on line. It will list everything for you.
Coleman Petropoulos: An in depth car maintenance check should be performed with every oil change service that is performed, no matter how new or old the vehicle is. Harsh driving conditions and habits can speed up wear and tear on a number of vehicle systems and parts. Tire defects, when caught early, can be rectified before they are able to cause problems with your carâs suspension. Brake system leaks can be found before they cause brake loss. Parts do fail b! efore reaching design limits. Catching these defective parts e! arly helps ensure they arenât able to cause the failures of other parts....Show more

Karie Mavle: Check your fluids at least bi-weekly, your tire pressures & lights monthly, follow your manual for oil changes, tire rotation, etc.BTW, if your engine is a 1.8L you have a timing chain.
