Masters in Education?

Jodie Capella: I'm assuming your undergrad is a BSEd in Secondary English Education, right? So, really you can choose which Master's to do. As a matter of point, I usually sugges to do the Master's in Administration, which includes a principal's certificate. Even if you never use it, knowing what the administration knows will help you as a teacher. (budget stuff, laws, etc) But, that's my pesonal opinion. Obviously a Masters in Literacy will focus heavily on teaching reading. Curriculum and Instruction degrees usually focus on the nuts and bolts of teaching. I've never seen a "language and culture" one, but it seems like it might be for foreign language studies. (which could help you in ESL)...Show more
