What is 'living green'?

Carolynn Testani: Living green means using clean energy as far as possble(solar, wind etc),planting trees whenever posssible, using recycled paper, paper bags, spreading the green message accross.you can also join green communities which will throw more light on what exactly GREEN LIVING means.one such community is LUGT-http://www.lugt.in/index.html

Rocio Karvis: It means you think about how you recycle and reuse everything intead of throwing it in a garbage dump.

Rickey Vrieze: Living green is:1. Going paperless by reviewing and revising documents and paperwork online. This will cut down on printing and paper costs.2. If you must, print on recycled paper using both sides of the paper.3. Turn off office equipment/electricity when not in use. Make it a habit to turn off air conditioner, the lights, and other electric gadgets when not in use or before going out.4. To make turning off lights easy, color-code light switches in your area.5. Use thermostats that may be ! programmed so that air conditioning and heat is turned down automatically at night or when not in use.6. Have your computer set to sleep automatically when not in use.7. Unplug to save electricity. Some office appliances remain on standby and consume electricity even when turned off. Save power by unplugging at the end of the day.8. Instead of throwing away printer ink cartridges, have them refilled.9. Have recycling bins placed within employees’ reach to encourage them to recycle.10. Provide water dispensers and mugs for the employees to eliminate use of plastic water bottles and disposable cups.11. Instead of travelling, use videoconferencing to save on travel costs.12. Raise the air conditioning level to save 10% on your air conditioning bill.13. Open windows or shades when it is still light out to let the light in instead of turning on the lights.14. Process bank transactions online instead of going to banks every day.15. Get plants at work. Place live plants in the o! ffice to clean the air, also opt to place drought-resistant pl! ants....Show more
