Shon Almquist: Absolutely go for it. If you love animation, you shouldn't settle for anything else. :)Before you choose a course, it is quite important to decide whether you want to study 2D or 3D animation, as they are quite different disciplines, and it takes a lot of hard work to become good in just one! Generally you will study 2D animation as well initially in a 3D animation course, because it's important to understand the basic principles, but then you will move onto 3D only. Choose the one which best suits you and your skills and interests. Do you prefer traditional or CG animated movies? 2D animation requires strong drawing skills, ability to do fast gesture sketches, and you must really love drawing (you'll be doing a lot of it). With 3D animation, drawing skills definitely help, but they aren't as vital. In a 3D animation course you will also learn modelling and rigging (the process of building a character within a 3D package and preparing it for animation). 3D! animation requires more technical knowledge as you will have to learn to use complex software packages. In my experience there tends to be more specialist fields within 3D animation (modellers, riggers, effects animators, character animators, specialists in facial animation, etc). Your initial bad experience demonstrates how important it is to find a good course which is right for you. I don't know what the best animation schools are in your country, but you should be able to research that online and send off for prospectuses or study the course information on their website to decide which one is best for you. You could also get in touch with course tutors with any questions you may have. I also had discouraging experiences initially but I have just graduated from a fantastic degree in 3D modelling and animation and it was one of the best things I have ever done. Best of luck. :)...Show more

Timmy Bustard: Well I think if your heart is set on animation then you should go for it. Since you are an India, there is this decent college called Academy of Art University, they admit international students, and many of their art programs are available online like their animation can be completed online.Check them out. They're an accredited university....Show more
