Anyone ever rented a room in a house?

Davis Zou: What you look for is up to you, but I'd recommend you verify it's really 2 full baths and not like 1 full bath and a half bath.Sit together with the person and put everything in writing of all the expenses that you two will agree to split up 50/50, and both of you sign it. Again, put it in writing and both of you needs to sign it. When she pays you, or when you pay her, do not give cash. Instead, write a check so you can track it.Also put in writing any agreements of friends coming over, etc. The last thing you want is a party animal with a dozen people over every night, unless you're into that kind of stuff....Show more

Marylee Lucks: Renting a room is a good first step or step to take when you are in a transition and cannot afford a place of your own.Always keep in mind that it is only a short term basis and you and the reasons for you doing it.It is not always easy to get along with a room mate especially if they own the place. 6 months is a good b! ase to start with as after a year you are more likely to have falling outs with the other person if you have not done so already. Best to avoid that and remain on good terms when you leave. Things to look for cleanliness, comfort levelshared bathroom? What is expected of you andlocation. If when you view the room you sense any discomfort or bad vibes move on. Otherwise you will be fine just consider it one of lifes adventures.Best of luck !!...Show more

Luke Kosch: i know people that have done this and did it succesfully but i would not do it if i were youdont trust anybody that you have talk to on the internet its not safeyou could be sleeping one night at the condo and she could be a mass murderer or something

Kenneth Thuesen: Your privacy and hers. What do you share and don't share. Can you live with her for six months in her house. How much freedom do you have. What can you do. Be very careful. This can be wonderful and it can be the very worse that ever hap! pen.

Frank Gazaway: ask if you have kitchen privlages or any other privlages like cable ,internet, washer and dryer, phone if you don;t already have one.little things like that how the food in the house will be bougfht if your buying your own and just eating that way ask as many questiones as you feel you need to ask.

Isreal Kochheiser: 2

Chris Wilczewski: Well, a a guy who rents out rooms in a nice home here in central Florida ..... (I've got TWO rooms available , by the way .) ..... I'd suggest:1) Read your rental agreement ... YES: make sure EVERYTHING is in Writting , so there are no surprises .... like: Ammount of rent, when rent is due, are Kitchen privledges and House privledges included ? What utilities are covered, if any .... are you responsible for cleaning any other part of the home ; but your own room , if you want to move-how much notice she wants ...... and the Deposit, if any ....2) When you lok at the room , see if there is! a lock on your door from the inside , How big are the closets, how about High Speen Internet , are long distance phone calls covered ?3) Check the pet situation IF you don't like pets ect .....4) Look around to see how clean she is , so you'll get an idea of what she will expect from you .....Good Luck !!...Show more
