colonies ceased to exist. Roughly, it means the world after 1950. Some
countries are still colonized but more than 99% of countries are
independent, now. <br>

"Performance Art" refers to art that needs to be performed, not just
hung on a wall. For example, if you created an image by having ten of
of your friends stand in a circle, for 5 minutes, that would be
performance art. The image would vanish as soon as one of your friends
left the circle. Having 9 people stand in a circle is not exactly the
same thing as having 10 people stand in a circle. Basically,
performance art is limited to a particular place and time. It is very
impermanent. <br>

"Performing Arts" are things like movies, ballet, and other forms of
theatre. That is not at all the same as "Performance Art".
